The Stations of the Cross, found in every Catholic Church, help us to think about Jesus’ last journey to the Cross on the hill of Calvary. The Stations of the Cross are the journey of life. They put life into context. They put suffering into context. They answer the questions which the world cannot answer. When someone is suffering we often ask the question, “Where is God?” God is on the road to Calvary with Jesus. While that road has many very painful moments, none of these moments is eternal. The only thing that is eternal is God’s presence, God’s love, and God’s tenderness.
