Healthy Kidz began its journey in 2014 as a coaching organisation delivering fun and engaging physical activity sessions in primary schools throughout Northern Ireland. In the years since our inception, the programme has expanded and evolved considerably in order to offer more holistic development opportunities to the children we work with, focusing on physical development, health and wellbeing.
Having built a reputation as one of the country’s leading outsourced coaching providers and experienced first-hand the issues that exist in terms of physical inactivity and poor health status among youth populations, we have embarked on a revolutionary mission to create a first of its kind software platform, that will enable schools to accurately record and report on the health and wellbeing of their pupils on an ongoing basis.
As part of this Digital Programme, our team of experienced professionals, comprising teachers, coaches and healthcare practitioners have built an expansive content portal, which contains resources and lesson ideas covering our key strands – In School PE, NET (Nutrition, Eyes & Teeth) and Emotional Wellbeing.
In addition, we have transformed the government-backed Daily Mile initiative into an incentivised, cross curricular learning tool that will allow children of all ages and capabilities to participate in regular recreational activity.
Last but not least, to further supplement our efforts in schools and to promote long term positive habit building, we have invested heavily in developing the Healthy Kidz App, which will allow children to continue their healthy lifestyle journey outside of the classroom.
We believe that our new Digital Programme will be key in bringing about significant change in the way ‘Physical Education’ is perceived and delivered on a national scale and look forward to working towards our ultimate goal of ensuring that every child has the opportunity to realise their full developmental potential.
