Eco-Speak 2018

18th Apr 2018

On Tuesday Primary 6 pupil, Niamh Higgins, attended the Mid Ulster District Council Eco-Speak Competition in the Burnavon Theatre Cookstown.

Niamh was required to research and speak on the topic;

"Blue Bin Recycling: What Difference Does It Make?"

Through her speech Niamh demonstrated her knowledge of the importance of blue bin recycling and attempted to persuade non-recyclers that recycling is worthwhile and encouraged everyone to recycle more.

Niamh has gained first hand experience of the topic through our work in school promoting St Mary's as an Eco School.

Niamh came first in her heat and progressed to the final where she finished in overall 2nd place. A tremendous achievement.

Well done Niamh, we are very proud of you and we hope that everyone will hear your message loud and clear.

As Niamh stated.."Betty Blue says it is over to you!"
