50 YEARS AGO TODAY.......

1st Sep 2020

It is great to be back at school and see the smiling faces of all our wonderful children again. We are thankful to have come through the last six months of pandemic relatively unscathed and are looking forward to the beginning of a new school year and a fresh start for us all.

This is a special year for Glenview, we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of our school’s opening. Much has happened in fifty years since we opened the doors of a brand new school, on 1st September 1970. This school was a replacement for the old Fairhill School.

Activities had been planned to mark this great milestone but unfortunately they have had to be put on hold for now due to Covid-19 and it’s restrictions. We do intend to celebrate this Golden Jubilee when it’s is safe to do so.

In the meantime we have put together a collection of photographs from that first day back in 1970 and others taken to mark the 25th anniversary.

We hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane!!!

We have welcomed 40 new children into Primary 1 today..... a whole new generation and it’s great to see how well they all settled in.
